Lewiston School District is so excited to start Second Step lessons across all elementary schools in the district. With this program, all students will be offered social emotional learning curriculum to help with managing strong emotions, resolving conflicts, and becoming better learners. As a parent you are able to create an account to view Second Step materials and connect what we are learning in class at home with "Home Links." A letter went home for each student to access this but the codes are also listed below, just go to SecondStep.org to get started and enter the code for your student(s) grade level(s):

Financial support for educational needs may be available through the Strong Families, Strong Students grant. This program was developed to help support families that are struggling after COVID-19 related hardships with educational supplies. Funding can be used for things like technology, internet access, instructional materials. Please check out the link below for more information.
United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Services, has authorized funding in response to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 to extend summer food service programs through June 2021.
This program allows all enrolled students of the Lewiston School District to be eligible for a qualifying breakfast and lunch meal free of charge through the end of the school year. Please note that additional items a student may select beyond the daily qualifying breakfast and lunch meal, such as additional milk/entrees, will be charged to the student’s account. Students taking milk only continue to pay the “milk only” price of $0.40. Please take a look at the following link to the district website. Our school calendar has changed slightly. October 1st and January 4th are now regular school days with students in session.
Our Whitman Food Pantry (1840 9th Ave, 748-3850) is here to help you and your family. The Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30-10. Everyone is Welcome. We are now located in the Library Building that sits behind Whitman Elementary. Door #20 that faces 10th Ave. During this time we are asking that you park on 10th Ave and use our wagon to carry items to your vehicle. It will be a quick pick up of groceries and cold items.
